Grateful Am I

Why is it that every time a repair person says he will be here between certain hours they always come 10 minutes before the last hour? Today I find myself waiting for refrigerator repair man who is supposed to arrive between 10 AM and 2 PM. It is now 1 PM, so he is still within the times that he estimated, but I know from experience how this is going to go. He will be here right before 2 PM and stay until three trying to fix the damn thing, while I already know the thing is dead and needs to be replaced. Five hours wasted, waiting and watching.

Come to think of it, I probably wasted 10 hours on this damn refrigerator because I’m pretty sure they gave me a four hour window for the delivery and arrived 10 minutes before the estimated time was up. Four hours to deliver, one hour to install, four hours for the repair man, and one hour for the repair.

I would be shaking mad, but that’s kind of redundant with Parkinson's. Frankly, I would not have five or 10 hours to waste if it were not for Parkinson’s forcing my retirement. So I guess I should be grateful. And, if I am right, I will be waiting next week for four or five hours for them to deliver and install my new refrigerator or for the parts to be in stock. So at least I have more for which to be f***ing grateful.
