Whiskey or Beer
I have young onset Parkinson’s which is generally described as being diagnosed before the age of 50. A national expert on Parkinson’s once explained to me that people with young onset usually have a slower progression of the disease which really isn’t comforting since I’m statistically going to live longer due to my age. Maybe it’s more about the ride, but I can’t get the destination out of the back of my mind.
The whole thing has got me thinking about drinking more.
I read that a bottle of whiskey has about 17 shots in it, and the total alcohol is equal to about 17 beers. When the neurologist told me that people diagnosed with Parkinson’s before age 50 have a slower onset of symptoms she was trying to give me hope. What she didn’t understand is that if I want to get drunk and pass out, I prefer whiskey over beer.
